Frequently Ask Question

Yes — specialist women's health physiotherapy is safe and beneficial throughout all stages of pregnancy. We use only techniques appropriate for your stage of pregnancy and adapt our approach based on any obstetric guidance you have received.
We recommend an initial postnatal assessment from around 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 8 weeks after a C-section, subject to your midwife or GP's clearance. However, contact us earlier if you have concerns — we can provide advice and gentle guidance at any stage.
Common signs include a 'gap' or 'ridge' along the midline of your abdomen when performing a sit-up, a 'dome' or 'coning' shape with exertion, or persistent core weakness after pregnancy. We perform a proper clinical assessment to determine the size and functional significance of any separation.
